A tragic road accident on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway has claimed the life of Jaipur-based industrialist Vallabh Maheshwari, managing director of the Shakun Group, after the BMW he was travelling in lost control and overturned near Alwar in Rajasthan on Sunday.
Maheshwari, 62, was travelling from Jaipur to Mathura on a religious trip when the accident took place around 4 pm in the Raini police station area. Police said the luxury vehicle, driven by his driver, lost control on the expressway before smashing through roadside barricades.
The car then crossed the median and rammed into the wall of a culvert, leaving the vehicle severely damaged.

Authorities said the impact of the crash was extremely severe, with the BMW left mangled beyond recognition.
Maheshwari and the driver were rushed to nearby Pinan Hospital and later referred to Harish Hospital in Alwar. Doctors declared the industrialist dead, while the driver survived the crash and is said to be out of danger.
